UWCGB is 10! Join us for a party (and our AGM)

posted 8 May 2012 13:24 by Aaron Ross

Saturday 26th May is our AGM - all are welcome of course to see us present our annual report and elect new trustees, including a new Chair! We are holding the meeting at the London Irish Centre ( www.londonirishcentre.org ) in Camden, London which allows us to host a dinner, a discussion panel featuring admirable UWC alumni and a party. Everyone is welcome to all or any part of the day (kicking off at 4:30pm with the AGM), but we need to charge for the dinner and the party afterwards. For further details please visit our facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/events/127292624067877/ or email events@uwcgb.org

Nominations 2012

posted 20 Mar 2012 13:20 by Aaron Ross

Our Selection Team and Atlantic College have now completed our respective parts of the selection process and now all we need to do is send out the letters! AC's scholarship pot has stretched further than previous years down our list of nominees, but there are many who won't be offered any scholarship support. If you want to help us send these amazing young people to a UWC and help the college they go to continue to transform lives with that income, please consider pledging support via our National Committee! Candidates - keep your eyes on the post!

Brits at Atlantic College with GBear

November news: applications for 2012 are open and we want everyone to spread the word! Click "Get involved" to find out how. Last month we raised £54 through Easyfundraising - let's see if we can double it through December (and remember it doesn't cost you a penny!). We have two fabulous events going on over the Christmas period in London and in St Fagans, Cardiff. After spending time at Atlantic college (pictured), GBear is mid flight to Red Cross Nordic, Norway. Follow us on Twitter to find out what he gets up to (and more about life at a UWC).

Two, 100% scholarship places have just been confirmed for Pearson College - open only to students resident in Anglesey and Scotland. This is great news if you live in those places but bad news for anyone else with their heart set on Pearson College. Please research all of the colleges (except UWCSEA and UWCSB) and keep an open mind!
